U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton says the Trump administration's decision to pull out of the UN Human Rights Council is being accompanied by an end to U.S. funding for the body.
He was speaking on a radio show shortly after the announcement to withdraw on Tuesday.
He said funding will also be cut for the UN high commissioner for human rights.
Bolton also defended Washington's decision to leave the council, saying it doesn't advocate human rights and is being used by rights abusers against the U.S. and Israel.
About 40 percent of the UN regular budget funds the HRC and high commissioner's office.
The U.S. contributes to about 22 percent of the regular budget as well as additional voluntary contributions.
