GUANGZHOU, CHINA — Fast-acting citizens came to the rescue when a road barrier in Guangzhou, China came crashing down atop pedestrians during a storm.
The surveillance video from September 1st at 3:40 p.m captures the wind knock over a road barrier obstructing access to the pavement which, unfortunately, fell directly on top of the innocent waiting public.
The video then captures citizens abandoning their cars and bus journeys and making a dash for the collapsed barrier.
The rescuers struggled to lift the metal barrier to aid those in dire need.
However, as more passersby joined the rescue effort, they succeeded in lifting it upright and rescuing those trapped underneath.
Guangzhou Daily reported that three pedestrians including a mother and her toddler were injured.
