Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad is in Russia for a three-day visit following an invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The visit is expected to enhance the diplomatic ties and spur bilateral trade between the two countries.

The prime minister is accompanied by Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali, Foreign Affairs Minister Saifuddin Abdullah and International Trade and Industry Minister Darell Leiking.

Mahathir and his delegation are taking part in the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) for the first time.
