The chief of Tanza, Cavite police station has been administratively relieved pending a probe on his link to the murder of radio anchor Rubylita Garcia. PNP spokesperson Reuben Theodore Sindac said Police Superintendent Conrado Villanueva was relieved to make sure he will not influence the investigation. Villanueva's name was mentioned by Garcia to her son as the brains behind the attack minutes after she was gunned down. The National Press Club, meanwhile, said the spate of media killings during the Aquino administration is alarming. The group urges government to hold a summit with journalists to address the problem.
