Gonzaga, Cagayan Mayor Carlito Pentecostes Jr. was shot dead by suspected New People's Army (NPA) rebels during the flag-raising ceremony at the town hall Monday. Pentecostes died on the spot. His two bodyguards were also killed in the shooting incident.
