이제민 국민경제자문회의 부의장 "한국이 일본 추월하자 견제위해 수출규제"
At the national economic meeting,... vice chair Lee Jay-min said Japan's export curbs are an attempt to rein in the South Korean economy and take away all the progress it's made.
The vice chair said the restoration of Seoul and Tokyo bilateral ties in 1965 partially helped the economy grow, but Japan wants to keep the old vertical relationship.
South Korea, he said, has started to overtake Japan in many industries under the free trade system,... something the Abe administration doesn't want to continue.
He also pointed out ways that political issues go beyond Japan, noting that Korea's trade depends heavily on China and its defense on the United States.
