The town of Hebden Bridge was subject to a flooding incident resulting in local flood sirens to ring out on Sunday (July 28).

Footage shows Palace House Road with a WWII style air raid siren ringing in the background.

The eerie sounds warn locals that flooding of the River Calder can be imminent and to be aware of the dangers that accompany the adverse weather.

Hebden Bridge and the rest of the Calder Valley were devasted by floods in 2016.

This prompted a Flood Alleviation Scheme to help regenerate the riverbanks and other waterways to prevent serious flooding happening again.

The filmer said on Twitter: "Thankfully I live out the way of it but it’s a worry for friends’ properties."
