It makes a wonderful party appetizer recipe and kids would love this healthy snack. The recipe is very simple to make and the yummy taste of the snack lies on the right consistency of the batter. Ingredients:
Boiled Eggs – 6
For making the batter:
Gram Flour – 250 gms
Rice Flour - 50 gms
Carom seeds – 1/4 spoon
Turmeric powder – 1/4 spoon
Red chili powder – 1 tsp
Salt – 1/2 spoon( as required)
Water – 1/4 cup(or as required)
Baking soda – 2 pinches
Garam Masala -1/4 tsp
For deep-frying:
Oil – 2 cups (for deep frying)
1. Peel the boiled eggs and cut them into long pieces.
2. In a mixing bowl, add besan flour, rice flour, maida flour, turmeric powder, red chilly powder, baking soda, pepper pwd, salt,
Mix well.
3. Add water little by little and stir well to smooth batter.
The batter consistency should be thin. ( not too thick or watery)
4.Heat oil in a frypan.
5. Dip the egg slice in batter and deep fry in hot oil.
6. Keep the flame in medium and fry till the egg pakoras turn crisp & golden on both sides.
7. Drain in kitchen tissue.
8. Serve hot with tomato ketchup or any dip of your choice.
