Good morning. A heat wave is set to bake Korean peninsula. Afternoon temperatures will be above 30 degrees Celsius, heat will roast Daegu with an expected high of 33 degrees. The heat will intensify for the capital over the rest of work week.
Upper regions, including parts of Gyeonggi-do and Gangwon-do Provinces, will see passing showers in the evening, while Jeju will see rain through mid-afternoon due to a monsoonal front.
Jeju and southern regions are waking up to lots of clouds, but it's sunny for the rest of us. Morning lows are similar to yesterday, Seoul, Daegu and Gwangju starting the day at 20 degrees Celsius. Jeju and Busan kicking off at 21 degrees.
Highs will be hovering above 30 degrees in most areas, Chuncheon and Daegu getting up to 33 degrees. People heading outdoors for prolonged periods will need to use the usual precautions against the hot and muggy conditions.
