Good morning. The season's monsoonal front is dropping heavy showers on Jeju and Korea's southern coastal regions, which will gradually expand to more areas as the day goes on. The entire country will be hit by monsoon season on the same day, which is a first in 12 years.
Korea's monsoon season delivers more than 30 percent of the country's annual rainfall. We are forecast to get a similar amount this year. Seoul will see rain tonight which will linger into Thursday afternoon.
Other regions will see showers into tomorrow as well. Southern coastal regions and are Jeju forecast to see 100 millimeters of torrential rain.
A heavy rain advisory has been issued for Jeju, while Seoul continues to be hot during the day with a heat advisory still in place.
Daily highs in most areas will be similar to a couple notches lower than yesterday, Seoul at 32, Jeju at 26.
