Students were stranded inside classrooms after flash floods hit the Philippines yesterday morning (July 1).
Downpours started just after 9am causing a torrent of rainwater that swamped streets in the Olongapo City area northwest of the capital Manila.
Parent Arra Aquino, who lives in front of the school, said that the water continued rising throughout the morning.
She said: "There were no tricycles or jeepneys available because the flood was already high, and the current was so strong. The children couldn't go outside and all the lessons were suspended.
Students reached their homes after a few more hours of waiting for the flood to recede.
