Typhoon Mangkhut brought flash flooding to Baguio City in the Philippines on Saturday, September 15.

Mangkhut, known locally as Ompong, made landfall in northern Luzon, unleashing torrential rain and strong winds.

In the Philippines, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said an estimated 5.2 million people were within 77 miles of the projected path of Mangkhut.

More than 15,000 people from 10 provinces were evacuated on Friday, September 14, NDRRMC said.

Mangkhut, said to be the biggest storm in the world so far in 2018, hit Hong Kong and southern China on September 16. Credit: T0ny_SF via Storyful
