Two days after an estimated 2 million anti-extradition bill protesters took to the streets, Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam offered her “most sincere apology” to the city's residents during a 51-minute press conference. Lam admitted her governance in the next three years would be difficult, and promised to do her best to mend social divides, listen to young people and roll out policies to improve the city’s economy and people’s lives.
