한미, 대북 식량지원•돼지열병 방역 협력 방안 논의
Working-level officials from Seoul and Washington convened again this morning to continue their discussion from the day before.
Seoul's Foreign Affairs Ministry did not elaborate on the agenda, but the two sides are thought to have discussed South Korea's plans to provide food aid to the North, worth some 8 million U.S. dollars.
They are also likely to have talked about measures to prevent the spread of swine fever, which was recently confirmed in the North.
In order to prevent the fever from spreading to the South, Seoul had asked North Korea to cooperate on fighting the outbreak, but the North is yet to respond.
The Agriculture Ministry says it has prepared diagnostic equipment and disinfectant in case the North asks for help.
