Just minutes before Friday's mass shooting at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, the shooter's "manifesto" was emailed to the country's prime minister Jacinda Ardern.
At a press conference on Sunday regarding the attack that killed fifty people, she said she was one of more than thirty people who received the document.
Within two minutes of its receipt, she forwarded it to parliamentary security,... but said that didn't leave enough time or provide enough information to enable the authorities to respond.
When asked if Facebook should stop live-streaming, the prime minister said she will discuss the matter directly with the company.
Facebook said that within 24 hours of the incident it had removed one-and-a-half million videos of the attack from the platform.
