Farmers protesting against non-payment of compensation for their lands acquired for Gokul barrage turned violent today and attacked the police force that was trying to control the protest.
Many policemen including the SHO are reported to have got serious injuries.
The agitated farmers and Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) workers assembled at the Gokul barrage to register their protest against the non-payment of the compensation.
