Thousands of farmers tried to march towards the governor's house Raj Bhavan in Patna on December 29. They called for the Centre’s new agricultural laws to be scrapped that set up a confrontation with the police in line with massive demonstrations in several parts of the country. March started from Patna's famous Gandhi Maidan and the police blocked the protest at Dak Bungalow Chowk, using barricades and batons, resulting in a clash. Several people were injured, PTI reported, and some protesters chased the police after the lathi-charge. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi on December 29 attacked the government over increasing unemployment & farmers’ agitation. Gandhi said that PM Modi led government is not concerned about the farmer, poor, commoners but has concerns for its crony capitalist friends. Gandhi also shared a news report wherein as per the CMI survey, 35 lakh people lost their jobs during the month of November.
