These incursions by China have put the visit by new Chinese Premier Li Keqiang to India on May 20 in jeopardy. Chinese PLA troops have pitched a tent to create a makeshift post 10 km deep inside Indian territory near Daulat Beg Oldie in Eastern Ladakh. Even by the Chinese perception of the Line of Actual Control (which differs from India's take on it), this is 2 km inside Indian territory. The side from which China has intruded is also beyond China's own territorial claim. The area it breached the Line of actual control from is actually Tibet and Xinjiang, both were sovereign states that China invaded in the past. The Chinese platoon of over 30 troops moved in on April 15. Indian troops have now also entrenched themselves in a counter-deployment within sight of the Chinese troops.
