STORY: Chinese Premier Li Keqiang began a three day visit to Vietnam on Sunday , inspecting an honor guard and meeting with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung at the presidential palace in Hanoi.

The visit, Li Keqiang's first to the country, is significant in terms of consolidating and strengthening political trust and promoting the two countries' strategic partnership.

Since the normalization of bilateral relations in 1991, Vietnam and China have developed a good relationship, bringing practical benefits to both nations.

The issues of borders and territory are also a focus of attention of the two countries. The dispute on land borders as well as the one in the South China Sea are also expected issued to be discussed in the meetings.

As well as inspecting a guard of honor and meeting with delegates from both countries, the two leaders on Sunday signed agreements on cooperation in financial, education and maritime exploitation
