In a shocking disclosure, social activist Medha Patkar has alleged that a number of politicians in Maharashtra received large amount of kick-backs from contractors to obtain contracts for building irrigation projects in the state. Patkar names Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Congress leader Sunil Deshmukh, BJP leader Gopinath Munde and former BJP president Nitin Gadkari in the list of beneficiaries.
