In Patiala, an 18-year-old girl was driven to suicide, 44 days after she was gangraped, because the police didn't arrest the suspects. It was only after her death, that the Punjab Police swung into action and arrested the alleged rapists Balwinder Singh, Gurpreet Singh and a woman Shinderpal Kaur who helped them.
