A row seems to be emerging over the constable's death being blamed on protestors at India Gate. The 47-year-old Delhi Police Constable Subhash Tomar suffered a cardiac arrest when the protests against Delhi's bus gang-rape turned violent at India Gate on Sunday. Tomar died on Tuesday morning at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and was given a state funeral. The police commissioner Neeraj Kumar himself lead the mourners as a pall-bearer. Commissioner Neeraj Kumar cited doctor's findings to say that Tomar had internal injuries on his chest, neck and lower abdomen. Delhi police quickly added the section of murder to the existing case of rioting and attempt to murder at the Tilak Marg police station.
