India's Parupalli Kashyap was the toast of town as he won his maiden men's singles tier-three badminton event at the Syed Modi International India Grand Prix Gold. The second seed and favourite overcame a tough challenge from Thai Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk to win 21-19, 14-21, 21-17 in one hour and 12 minutes.
