The Indian team has gone into lunch on day 1 with a score of 90 for the loss of two wickets. Gambhir and Sachin are notout. The Indian team will be reasonably happy with the way things have gone for them at the Eden Gardens. After a decent star, India lost their first wicket in the form of Virender Sehwag who was run out for 23 runs. The next one to go was Cheteshwar Pujara who played a rather lazy shot to be bowled off the bowling of Monty Panesar for a score of 16. Sachin Tendulkar came into bat at the fall of Pujara. Sachin was welcomed amidst loud cheers at the venue. Gautam Gambhir has held fortess for team India with a well crafted half century.
