India is closer to having an effective missile defence shield against enemy attacks. India has test fired its Advanced Air Defence interceptor missile from the coast of Orissa. This system is meant to serve as a second tier of missile defence which intercepts enemy missiles after having entered earth's atmosphere. India has already tested the PAD system which tackles enemy missiles in space.
