New Delhi: The National Capital Region was lashed by heavy rains on Friday morning, leading to waterlogging at several places in Delhi and adjoining Noida. Traffic was reported to be moving at slow pace at several places following the rains. "We are getting many complaints of traffic jams due to choked drains. Traffic is slow in Nizamuddin, Greater Kailash 1, and Safdarjung in south Delhi," a traffic police official said.
Pedestrians and people riding motorcycles and scooters were seen taking shelter under Metro over-bridges and other places, creating traffic bottlenecks. Metro services on the Dwarka-Vaishali/Noida City Centre line were also disrupted. The minimum temperature settled a notch below average for this time of year at 24.5 degrees Celsius. The Met department has forecast rain till Saturday morning.
