At least 74 people have been killed in clashes between rival fans following a football match in the Egyptian city of Port Said. Fans invaded the pitch after home side al-Masry pulled off an unlikely win. Some fans, armed with knives, turned violent and attacked opponent supporters. They threw stones, fireworks, and bottles at the fans and injured some players. Officials say most of the deaths were caused by concussions, deep cuts to the heads and suffocation from the stampede. Some security men were also among the dead. It is the biggest disaster in the country's football history.
