South Korea's Presidential Committee on Northern Economic Cooperation held an event with the Russian government in Seoul on Tuesday... to shore up economic ties between the two sides.
The event is part of efforts to realize the Moon administration's New Northern Policy.
Participants included representatives from South Korea's trade-related organizations and local companies... and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev.
The Russian government encouraged South Korean companies to invest in Russia's far east region... and promised to provide tax benefits and improved infrastructure.
By continuing to hold similar events in the future, the two sides are aiming to achieve 30-billion U.S. dollars in trade volume by 2020.
