1 The wordings of the thirty-sixth stanza are;
|| Avachya-Vadansh Cha Bahun Vadishyanti Tavahitah
Nindantas Tava Samarthyam Tato Duhkhataram Nu Kim ||
2 This verse can be roughly translated as;
Your enemies will speak of you with insulting words and offensively renounce your valor. Alas! What could be more painful than that?
3 In few of the earlier verse, Arjuna had mentioned that he is not interested in both the heavenly as well as earthly pleasures.
4 In the next verse, the Supreme Lord repeats the same possibilities, but in the thirty-eighth verse, the lord justifies his earlier words by giving them a rationalistic approach.
5 The thirty-seventh stanza is;
|| Hato Va Prapsyasi Swargam Jitva Va Bhokshyase Mahim
Tasmad Uttishtha Kaunteya Yuddhaya Kritanishchayah ||
6 The rough translation is as follows;
From here, either by being slain on the battlefield, you will attain the heavenly abodes or you will get to enjoy the earthly kingdom by attaining victory. Therefore, O son of Kunti, arise with determination and fight.
7 The thirty-eighth stanza is as follows;
|| Sukha-Dukhe Same Kritva Labhalabhau Jayajayau
Tato Yuddhaya Yujyasva Nai ’vam Papam Avapsyasi ||
8 The rough translation of this verse is as follows;
Even up both pleasure and pain, both loss and gain, both victory and defeat; treat all of them alike and fight wholly for the sake of your duties. By doing so, you shall never incur sin.
