National Assembly Speaker Moon Hee-sang and the floor leaders of South Korea's five main parties met early this morning to discuss pending issues amid the ongoing strike from the minor opposition parties over election reform.
The meeting came at the request of Moon, as he hopes to mediate between the parties on the election reform issue and end the nine-day hunger strike of the leaders of some opposition parties as soon as possible.
However, the leaders were unable to reach an agreement this morning, and will continue discussions at 4:30 p.m. Korea time.
During the afternoon talks, the floor leaders are expected to discuss the agenda for the December extraordinary session, and an extension to the running of the political reform committee.
