Not many people know that Malaysia has one of the rarest subspecies of elephants in the world. Baby-faced with oversized ears and long tails, these are the gentle giants of Borneo, the pygmy elephants. Much smaller than the other Asian elephants, these animals generally avoid humans, but a rapid loss of habitat now makes them one of the most endangered animals in the world.
