इस बार करवा चौथ 27 अक्टूबर को मनाया जाएगा। यह त्योहार कार्तिक मास के कृष्ण पक्ष की चतुर्थी को मनाया जाता है। करवा शब्द का अर्थ मिट्टी का बर्तन होता है। चौथ का शाब्दिक अर्थ चतुर्थी है। इस दिन विवाहित महिलाएं पति की लंबी उम्र और सफलता की मनोकामना पूरी होने के लिए व्रत रखती हैं। वहीं, अविवाहित युवतियां सुयोग्य वर की कामना के लिए इस व्रत को धारण करती हैं। इस दिन शाम को चंद्रमा के दर्शन करने के बाद पति, पत्नी को मिट्टी के बर्तन (करवा) से पानी पिलाकर व्रत खुलवाता है। आज हम आपको बताते हैं कि इसमें करवा क्यों महत्वपूर्ण है।
