Fire Train Takes on Delta Fire in California's Shasta County

Firefighters aboard a special fire-fighting train joined the effort to contain the Delta Fire in Shasta County, California on September 7, spraying water on forests along the tracks near the Sacramento River.

The Delta Fire was zero percent contained on September 8, and officials closed sections of I-5 to traffic in both directions, warning that the fire posed a significant risk to residents in the area.

In this footage, firefighters on a train equipped with hoses and a water tank sprayed water from the train tracks on the slopes above and below.
