According to Reuters, New York’s attorney general issued civil subpoenas to every Roman Catholic dioceses in the state.
The subpoenas are part of a civil investigation into how the eight dioceses reviewed allegations of sexual abuse of minors, and if they covered up those allegations.
Last month, New York's attorney general reached out to partner with district attorneys for the investigation, because they are required to convene grand juries in the state.
