According to CNN, the eight Roman Catholic dioceses in New York state have been subpoenaed in a civil investigation.
The New York attorney general's office issued the civil subpoenas as part of an investigation into how the dioceses reviewed allegations of sexual abuse by clergy members against minors.
The civil investigation also seeks to determine if the dioceses covered up allegations of the sexual abuse.
