A mechanised boat carrying nearly 40 people on Wednesday afternoon capsized in River Brahmaputra in Guwahati. The details of casualty is not yet know. However, 15 people have been rescued so far. The boat was carrying passengers from MG Road in the city to North Guwahati. The incident occurred between 1 PM and 2 PM when the boat overturned suddenly after being hit in the pillars erected to lay water Hume pipes in Brahmaputra river.
