A 40-year-old bridge has collapsed in the South Kolkata's Majerhat. This happened last evening, several cars and a bus could be seen trapped in the debris. The police and NDRF have started the rescue operations. Meanwhile the hospital detachment of the army has also been sent to aid in the rescue operations. But this isn't the first time. In 2016, a flyover had collapsed killing 26 people, but shockingly, all the people who were arrested back then have been out on bail and the case hasn't been taken further.
