After cyclonic storm Jawad was reported to be brewing over the Bay of Bengal, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have been recceing the coastal areas of West Bengal on December 05.
Cyclone Jawad is likely to weaken further into a depression. IMD predicted heavy rainfall in the state. Fishermen were advised not to venture along and off the coasts.
