Hawaii residents made preparations for strong winds and heavy rain on Thursday, August 23, in advance of Hurricane Lane making landfall.

This video shows workers at a resort in Lahaina attempting to corral flamingos and swans inside ahead of the storm. The clip, taken by a holidaymaker, was filmed on the west side of Maui.

The National Weather Service forecasted heavy rain fall and strong winds for the region from August 23 to 24.
