A 95-year-old suspected Nazi war criminal living in the United States has been deported to Germany.
Jakiw Palij (Yakif Paly) lived in New York City and is accused of lying about his wartime work when he immigrated to the U.S.
He has denied allegations that he worked at a Nazi camp, saying he only served as a Nazi guard because his family was threatened.
He was stripped of his American citizenship in 2003 and his deportation was ordered about a year later, but for more than a decade no country would take him in.
Palij is however unlikely to be prosecuted in Germany due to a lack of evidence.
