Payment App Safety 'Consumer Reports' tested out the most popular peer-to-peer payment services. That included Apple Pay, Venmo, Square’s Cash App, Facebook Messenger and Zelle. The outlet tested the services for data privacy and security. Editors found huge differences while testing the apps out. Apple Pay came out on time with a score of 76 out of 100. This is because they appear to collect the least amount of user information. The worst performance was Zelle’s standalone app with just 50 points. 'Consumer Reports' stated the services are safe to use, but think providers should take additional steps for safety. 90 million Americans use peer-to-peer payment services.
