Eleven people in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district were rescued after being swept away by a strong current on Wednesday (August 15) as they were bathing in a stream.
The footage shows a group of people bathing in the middle of a stream when the great force of the current suddenly pushes them to the edge of the waterfall.
Their bodies can be seen falling down the waterfall and later floating in the river.
The waterfall is located in Subhashpura area, bordering Gwalior district.
There was a sudden surge in water around 4:30 pm on Wednesday, possibly due to heavy rain upstream, catching those bathing near the waterfall unawares, the police said.
The rescue operation involved teams of the navy, Border Security Force and the state disaster response force.
