At least 22 people died when a section of a motorway bridge in the Italian city of Genoa collapsed on August 14, Edoardo Rixi, Italy’s deputy transport minister, was quoted as saying.
Ansa reported that several vehicles were crushed in the collapse.
The bridge, the Morandi, forms part of the A10 motorway, connecting Genoa to Ventimiglia near the French border.
