Despite a deceleration by Mexican president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador that fracking is to be banned in the country, a number of mining projects are still in progress which could seriously pose a threat to indigenous territories. But residents of places like Huasteca have organized themselves to defend the lands of their ancestors.
