Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks said a bald eagle that had been found injured was released into the wild on July 30 after a period of rehabilitation.

The organization said it was alerted to an eagle in distress near Flathead Lake by members of the public on July 12. After being picked up by game warden Jon Obst, the eagle was treated for injuries developed from fighting with another eagle over territory.

The eagle was released at the north of Flathead Lake on Monday after recovering from its injuries. “He is sporting a blue leg band with the number 20 on it,” the organization said in a Facebook post, “Keep an eye out for him if you’re around the Big Fork area.” Credit: Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (Region 1) via Storyful
