Video shot by Ashley Garcia shows passengers moving away from Aeromexico Flight 2431’s burning fuselage after the aircraft crashed during takeoff from Guadalupe Victoria Airport (Durango International) in Durango, Mexico, on July 31.
Durango state Governor Jose Aispuro confirmed in a tweet that no one was killed in the crash and 49 people with injuries were taken to hospital for treatment. A preliminary investigation said the crash was caused by “adverse weather conditions,” according to OMA Aeropuertos, the administrative company that operates Durango International Airport.
Speaking at a press conference, Aispuro said a gust of wind had hit the Embraer 190 shortly after take-off, causing the crash, AP reported.
