A car bomb hit a convoy of civilians fleeing from airstrikes and fighting in Deir Ezzor on November 4, killing a hundred people and injuring even more, local media said.

In this video, the shells of at least five burned out vehicles are still smoking. One of the people injured in the attack says he was in the convey when the car bomb exploded. His hands and one of his legs are heavily bandaged.

The Islamic State carried out the attack, according to both a Syrian government news outlet and a Kurdish media outlet.

Airstrikes by the Syrian government and its allies on the city of Deir Ezzor and the towns southeast of it along the Euphrates river have prompted as many as 400,000 civilians to flee, local media said. Credit: YouTube/ANHA via Storyful
