The second and final draft of Assam's National Register of Citizens (NRC) has been published. Two crore eighty nine lakh, eighty three thousand six hundred and seventy seven people have been found eligible to be included in the National Register of Citizens. There were a total of 3.29 crore applicants. This would mean that 40,07,707 have been left out of the NRC draft.

అస్సోంలో జాతీయ పౌరుల పట్టికను అధికారులు విడుదల చేశారు. సోమవారం గౌహతిలో ఈ పట్టికను రిలీజ్ చేశారు. ఇందులో అస్సాంకు చెందిన 40 లక్షల మంది పౌరులకు ఆరాష్ట్ర పౌరసత్వం దక్కలేదు. మొత్తం 3.29 కోట్ల మంది ప్రజల్లో 40 లక్షల మంది పేర్లు తుది జాబితాలో కనిపించకపోవడం విస్మయానికి గురిచేస్తోంది. అయితే జాబితాలో లేని పేర్లు గల వ్యక్తులను విదేశీయులుగా పరిగణించబోమని చెబుతూనే వారిపై ఎలాంటి శిక్షాత్మక చర్యలు ఉండవని అధికారులు స్పష్టత ఇచ్చారు. ఎవరి పేర్లు అయితే జాబితాలో లేవో.. అట్టివారికి మరో అవకాశం ఇస్తున్నట్లు అధికారులు తెలిపారు. వారు NRC వెబ్‌సైట్‌ను సందర్శించి ఆన్‌లైన్‌లో దరఖాస్తు చేసుకోవాలని లేదంటే సమీపంలోని NRC సేవా కేంద్రానికి వెళ్లి దరఖాస్తులు ఇవ్వొచ్చని అధికారులు వివరించారు.
