Ontario resident Mitchell Churchill captured video of a tree falling outside his Sudbury home during a thunderstorm on July 9.
Strong winds and heavy rains caused extensive damage to the Sudbury area, according to CBC news. The storm uprooted trees and knocked out power for at least 4,000 homes, 700 of those homes remained without power on July 10.
Churchill told Storyful he saw the storm rolling through while he was on his way home. Once he arrived at his house, he started filming as the rain picked up and lighting started striking. “I had been filming outside with my door open when a giant wind gust pushed me inside and the door closed. Immediately after is when the tree fell on top of the house and car outside,” he said. The tree caused minor damage to his car and the roof of his home. Credit: Mitchell Churchill via Storyful
