Hundreds of demonstrators, the majority of whom were women, wrapped themselves in foil blankets and chanted in the Hart Senate Office building in Washington DC on June 28 to protest against ICE and family separation.
The foil blankets that the protesters used were identical to those given to migrants being held in detention centers.
At least 575 people were arrested at the demonstration, AP reported
Women also blocked the entrance to the Department of Justice and marched through the city on June 28. The protest was organized by a coalition of groups, including the Women’s March, to demand the abolishment of ICE, according to the Washington Post.
